Web Design
Alongside my role as Director of Content, I’ve also been the chief administrator of the Fire’s owned digital platforms - www.chicagofirefc.com and the Chicago Fire FC Mobile App.
While using UX principles of visual and information hierarchy, I make it a key point to ensure that each landing page project I take on is as visually engaging as it is informational, and also keeps mobile responsiveness top-of-mind.
These pages are often at the very beginning of a customer’s journey, so while content and creativity are the pillars of each of the recent design examples below, inspiring continued action remains their purpose.
Chicago Fire FC’s 2023 Season Memberships
The first thing a Fire fan saw when looking for information on how to join the club as a member in 2023. A captivating intro video and high-energy visuals supplement all the necessary info needed for a fan to find the perfect package for themselves.
Chicago Fire FC’s 2023 “Kit For All”
Designed to showcase the unique elements incorporated into the club’s 2023 secondary kit while also acting as a hub for all the content created around the launch. Includes CTAs to purchase both jerseys and tickets to the team’s 2023 home opener.
Chicago Fire FC’s 2022 FIFA World Cup Guide
Built to be a concise, localized resource for Fire fans seeking to take part in Chicago-based activities surrounding the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Includes links watch party information and online games, plus the latest World Cup news, stats, scores, and tune-in info.
Chicago Fire FC’s All-New Mobile App
A simple landing page with high-level CTAs to download the team’s new app that I co-developed ahead of the 2023 season. Features a quick look at some of the features, as well as FAQs on how to transition easily from the old app to the current one.
Chicago Fire FC’s 2022 Summer Series
Designed to contain individual ticket purchase links for the Fire’s series of 2022 home matches at Soldier Field, while additionally calling out the unique giveaways and activations at each and selling the summer matchday experience at the stadium.
Chicago Fire FC’s 2022 Preseason
A one-stop shop for all the ways fans could keep up with the team during its 2022 preseason camp. Focused primarily on giving fans access to the latest news and content, while also driving them to follow on social media and secure their season tickets for the upcoming season..
*Note - All of the above design examples were created and published within the FORGE content management system by Deltatre. My specific responsibilities in building each page included shaping the visual and informational hierarchy, writing SEO-friendly copy, ensuring embed and script compatibility, and emphasizing mobile responsiveness. The graphic design and video elements were products of the Fire’s talented video and creative teams.
One other small pat-on-the-back (hey, it’s my web site 🤷♂️) - In summer of 2021, I project managed the Fire’s web platform migration from Drupal to FORGE, which meant crafting the entire new site’s overall structure, navigation, and SEO, while almost single-handedly creating 150+ new pages from scratch within a six-week timeframe.
